wowktv.com – The beautiful trees that cover the Mountain State are being used for more then just a tourist attraction. After recent studies have shown that over the past three years the timber industry has been on the rise. 84 Lumber manager Logan Quinn couldn’t agree more.
“It’s fantastic right now. We’re in an upswing. We’re really building houses and have houses going up,” he said.
From 2005 to 2013, West Virginia companies exported on average $90.8 million in lumber. In 2014, that number jumped to $136.8 million, a 54 percent increase from the previous year.
“The weather is the biggest key,” Logan said.
Logan went on to say that with all the new business, 84 Lumber is ready to hire more employees.
“We’re always hiring. It’s always good to get your application on our website, because it’s getting so busy around here you are going in ten different directions. So we defiantly want to have a little extra help.”
